A mini-album using Pink Paislee Atlas collection

Re-posting todays post from the Sassy Scrapper blog this mini album I made.
Read on for heaps of pics. ;)

***********

Hello, Leonie here today and I'm sharing a cute little mini album
I put together using the Pink Paislee Atlas Collection available HERE

This little album was quite easy to put together using the Instagram cards and frames as a base for
the album, I punched holes in the top left of the cards and used a hinge ring to hold it all together.

I always buy a pack of school photo's in various sizes every year
but find I rarely scrap or use any of the photo's and
they end up sitting in the draw.
So I chose a set of these photo's and used
one of each of the kids along with the group photo to include in my album today.

I then typed up lots of Life Journey quotes to add to the pages.

The instagram frames and acetate cards added a cute peekaboo
element to the album.

Once I had the pages of the album sorted I set about decorating it with
the Atlas collection ephemera and chipboard sticker packs, some of which also had
inspirational quotes to add to the Life Journey theme.

Thanks for stopping by the Sassy Blog today,
I hope you're feeling inspired.  Happy creative Wednesday to all our readers.

Cheers,
Leonie Neal-Dawson.

Kaisercraft Design Team Finalist Entry 2015-2016

Hello scrappy friends, I have loads to share with you today.
A couple of weeks ago Kaisercraft announced 25 Design Team finalists for 2015-2016 and I was
on the list!!  How Exciting!
I was sent papers from two ranges, to be released later this year, and asked to create a card and a layout with each of the ranges.

The first range is called 'Home For Christmas' and is a delightful mix of traditional
Christmas colours with a nice natural feel to it, think - kraft, woodgrain, hessian...can you picture it?
Well, maybe take a look at the page I created and you'll get a better idea.

SMILE Layout

The script paper I chose as the base had a lovely banner on the reverse which I fussy cut
out and used to create my own banner, adding some punched stars,  fussy cut holy sprigs, flower stamens and tiny pegs.

I lightly sponged some gesso on the base paper and added some splats and drips of lime green Kaiser Mist.
I really like the natural look to these papers, so I didn't want to add too many mixed media
elements to this page, just wanting it kept fairly simply and classic.

I layered several pieces of patterned papers from the collection under my photo ripping the edges
of some to add to the natural/rustic feel of the papers.
To finish off my photo stack I added a Kaisercraft Photo Overlay which also doubled as
having a title for my page.  Smile. :)

Here are some more scattered stars I punched out of the patterned papers and you can see the stitched strips of papers along the bottom and top of the page.
I also outlined the stars and a few other elements in the banner with a white gel pen to make them
stand out more.  White always looks so good against Kraft don't you think?

Next up is a card using the 'Home for Christmas' range.

JOLLY Christmas Card

I used a few more mixed media elements on the card, included some stencilling with texture paste, clear gesso and then some colour with Kaiser Mists

The second paper collection I was given to create with was the 'Time Machine Collection'.
A very cool grungy range, I had a lot of fun using.

SAYING GOODBYE Layout

I used the Kaisercraft Quarters stencil and texture paste to add my initial layer and then
coated the base paper with clear Gesso then adding colour with the turquoise Kaiser Mist.
Once the mist had dried I used a white gel pen to stencil some arrows onto the base again with the Quarters stencil.

Here's what my background looked like before I added my paper layers.

You can see some stamping here with the Kaisercraft tiny dots texture stamp and some added gauze between the paper layers.

You can see here where I have added a faint circle behind my photo stack with lead pencil and a white gel pen to replicate the cogs in the patterned paper.

These are what I call my deconstructed flowers!!
I like to alter most things and add my own little creative touches to them
including these Kaisercraft paper blooms which started out life
as a pretty white bloom.
I pulled the centre out to start with then misted them with turquoise Kaiser Mist, and added some stamens and glitter thread from my stash.

My final creation was this birthday card using the 'Time Machine Collection'

ESPECIALLY FOR YOU card

I cut out the circle element and used foam tape for extra dimension to raise it up and
tuck some gauze behind it.

The Kaisercraft butterfly stickers were attached to some of the patterned paper that I had misted with Peach Kaiser Mist and I then fussy cut around the butterfly sticker.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and taking a look at my finalist entry for the Kaisercraft Design Team.
Wish me luck and good luck to all the other finalists.

Sassy Scrapper May Moodboard

Hello, I'm just popping in to share
the May Moodboard at Sassy Scrapper.

Our DT member Anita Bownds designed this board and
it's an absolute delight,  I'm sure you'll love creating with it.

Here's my take on the board.   I loved the colour combo and managed to easily
combine the three to create this page.

I hope you'll be able to join in with us this month.
Go HERE to link up your entry.
