March Sassafras Challenge

Hi, last day of March and I have one more LO to share.
Didn't think i had anymore in me but well i recently got some of the new
Sassafras papers and i was dying to use them so what better challenge
It was to use Blocking as a technique, this means to create a
square or rectangular shape on your Layout.

I used papers from the Elle's Tale, Starters,
Secretly Smitten, and an older range Life is Beautiful.

Aswell as some other bits and pieces from my stash including
an old embroidered doiley that I cut up. It matched the shabby faux buttons and stitching
on the paper, perfectly.

Isn't she Gorgeous,?! Our sweet little niece Charlotte.
The polka dots on the photo are a fab little technique
that i learnt from Giovanna Scott.  :)

i think i'm addicted!!! To Sketches, just can't get enough of them at the moment so here are four
more LO's. All based on various sketches.
The first Sketch is from Handmade by Suzanne.

Great sketch for using up scrap bits of paper which is what i did!
i used one of the new Prima masks i recently bought for the first time too.

Scrapping some pictures of our Nephew from our QLD holiday over Christmas.
You're such a cutie Drew. xxx

and here's the sketch (sorry about the quality)

The next Sketch is from Crafty Sketches

OMGoodness i was so happy with how this cake turned out for Maggie's 6th birthday party!!!
Saw it on a blog somewhere and new she would love it as her birthcay cake.
Using some Sassafras, Echo Park and WRM Papers and embelishments which match the rainbow cake perfectly!

A pencil lines Sketch (#230)

Using more of the gorgeous new Crate Paper ranges

and the last one is for Sassy Lil Sketches another new blog i found out about
over at Chat with Charm!  There are so many challenges linked over there it's going to take me
ages to try them all. But i'm not complaining!!

Awwww Granny and her youngest grandaughter!

And i think that's it.... But just like they say on the infomercials,
'wait there's more!!!!'
(Eeeeekkk! i really have been Scrapping up a storm the last week.)
I have two more LO's to share for Challenges over at Scrapbook savvy.
I'll share them later in the the week.
Don't want to bore you too much ;)
Thank-you so much for stopping by and thank-you for the lovely comments you leave for me. x

The Scrappiest #110

I'm having a ball at the moment with all these different sketch
challenges. This one is for the Scrappiest Sketch #110

I used some crate paper 'portrait' collection.  Another wicked princess handmade flower and other
bits and pieces i came across while fossicking around in my stash including the metal disc that was actually
attached to the tag on a pair of the kids new runners!
and the silver brads well they're not really brads they're from a packet of old
self-covering buttons that Mum thought i could use in my scrapping! Thanks Mum!

Some pictures of Andy giving me some real Atti-tude!!!
Only for the camera of course! Andy usually tries to fly under the radar most of the time
and rarely gives us any trouble, pretty smart little cookie he is taking note of the others mistakes
and tries to avoid getting into any trouble! When push come to shove though he
can show us that yes 'He's got some atti-tude'.

Sketchabilities #42 & 43

Sketchabilities have two sketch challenges each month.  i had never heard of this challenge blog
til i read about it over at Chat with Charm (so many challenges listed all in one place, Fantastic idea!!).

This fisrt one is Sketch #42.
Using some of the neighborhood Crate paper range of papers and embellishments.

Maggie really is great at entertaining herself and always has
been. It's just usually the clean up afterwards
that she struggles with!!!

(edited to add-whoops didn't realise this one was due two weeks ago!! read it carefully next time Leonie. heheh. oh well great sketch anyway and more stories documented!)
And this is Sketch #43 at sketchabilities
how cute are those handmade flowers from Wicked princess!!!
and more crate paper:)

Tfl and thanks for your comments, they mean a lot to me!

inspired by #67 And CWC

HI, i've been inspired by 2 things.

One is this sketch number 67 at inpsired blueprints.

and the other is inspiration has been Chat with Charm!!!
A great new forum that has every challenge blog/site you could imagine all together in the one place.
So many challenges i've never heard of before
so it's really got me going in the creative department.

I had heard of inspired blueprints before of course but had never got round to
attempting one of their sketches.
Glad i did this one and i've already printed off #68 ready to have a go at that aswell!
I used Crate papers 'Emma's Shoppe' range for this LO.
Really gorgeous papers.

Don't forget to check out ChatWithCharm!

Stuck sketches for March

Hello, it's Friday but i can't really say YAY! for the weekend because i'm
working all weekend!!
Oh well i've spent most of this morning messing about
in the study scrapping so i shouldn't complain.
this is the March 1st Stuck sketch.
And this is my interpretation of it.
I flipped it 90degrees to suit my pics and tweaked a few things.
the photo's are my 'after' shots of the study/scraproom/sanctuary after it got a big makeover
last year.

And this is the March 15th sketch at stuck.

I used some prima leaves, and Zva felt flowers as embellishments.

the papers are Crate some
Restoration collection and some of the new Portrait collection.

I stayed pretty much true to this sketch.
Ok well that's it for me this week, have a great weekend.
I'm sure i won't will, of course 'will' i love my job!!!!
Cheers, Leonie

4 march challenges

Scrap the boys March challenge was to freeze a moment in time with a
specific time as the LO title.
i scrapped some pictures of Hamish
playing cricket at the beach this past summer.
Him and his brother have been obsessed with cricket this year
they play and watch every chance they get.
The amount of tennis balls that have gone down drains and on rooves well......
i wont even go there!!!
I used Basic Grey for this LO.

This second LO is for 123 to scrap using 1) light to medium blue 2)doilies 3)the word to/too/two in
your title.
I used more of the pink paisley ink resist papers that i love. This one had doilies on it, also
got some Martha Stewart paper doilies on there and a lace doiley!
The Picture is of Maggie after her prep class had performed two
cute little songs at church.
She was very happy with herself.!

Next is the WW1 challenge for March which was white, bright pink and artisan shapes.
So i think i got all those covered!
Gosh it is very pink though isn't it!!

And lastly this is my scrap the girls LO for March.
Using Prima and more Prima!!!
There were a bunch of fantastic 'she' quotes to chose as your LO title.
I chose this one because i thought it matched these pictures of Maggie leaving
Preschool for the last time last year. She wasn't sad about not seeing her friends but she was
just so happy about having celebrated with them at the end of a great year and now going on to
big school.
And that's about it for now.
TFL.

had a lovely time and managed to scrap 6 LO's.
Today i'm showing you a couple of the LO's i did.

The challenge was to use the quote
'There is no greater gift than today'
I used some photo's of Maggie bursting water balloons on her head!

and this second LO is a sketch from Paula's scrapbooking place
using some MME papers, chipboard emellishments and a picture of Hamish not at all happy with
Mum taking pictures of him (heheheh)!

8 years ago today....

Eight years ago today our little family of 3 became a family of 5!
How to grow your family in one easy step!!!
Those first 5-6 months were some of the toughest in my life. Sleep deprivation, post-natal depression, husband working away from home!!

That's Hamish Flynn (aka Hammer) on the Left & Andrew Robert (aka Andy) on the right.

I wouldn't trade those first months with these two sweet blessings for anything. I do remember lots of good
things it wasn't all 3 broken hours of sleep each night!!!  It was also; Cuddles lots of cuddles, seeing the birth of a big brother and watching him love on 'the brothers' as he referred to them, having the support of the best mum in the world!! She came by each day to hang out washing, clean, rock babies to sleep, cook, amuse an active 2 year old, heck she even stayed over the nights that Greg was away working & She got up with me 3 or 4 times a night to help me feed those
hungry boys!

I can't believe they were ever small enough to
both fit into this carrier!  Well, yes i can actually
and it was the cutest thing in the
world!!

One of my most favorite things in the world
when you were babies
was to carry both of you at once.
Arms full of love!
A feat not possible now, but they do both still love kisses and cuddles from their Mum!
Very thankful for that.

How lucky am I to be travelling this path with you, &
as your mother no less. It just doesn't get any
better than this!!
Happy Birthday Andrew & Hamish!
